‘A contemporary I respected,’ Taapsee Pannu says of Kangana Ranaut

Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee Pannu, who isn’t afraid to speak her mind, discussed what Kangana Ranaut means to her. Kangana and Taapsee have been engaged in a Twitter war since the actor called her a “B-grade” actor and a “sasti copy” of her. Aside from Kangana, Taapsee also commented on Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan.

Taapsee Pannu candidly answered several questions about her work and personal life during a recent Instagram live session. Taapsee was asked to share ‘what comes to mind first when someone mentions Kangana Ranaut during a rapid-fire round with Stutee Ghosh on Fever FM. When pressed further about Koffee With Karan, she added, “Not my cup of coffee.”

Kangana Ranaut referred to Taapsee as a “sasti” actor in a tweet in March 2021. You’ll never be taken seriously as a feminist so long as you support rapists, and your ringleader, Anurag Kashyap, was raided in 2013 for tax chori, according to a government report is out if you aren’t guilty go to court against them come clean on this… come on sasti,” she wrote in her post. Rangoli Chandel, Kangana’s sister, had also referred to Taapsee as a’sasti copy (cheap imitation)’ of Kangana.

Taapsee previously told the Hindustan Times in an interview that Kangana is ‘irrelevant’ to her life. “No, I’m not missing her… She’s an actor and a colleague in that regard. But, more importantly, she has no bearing on my life. When asked how she felt about Kangana’s suspension from Twitter, she said, “I don’t have any feelings towards her, good or negative.” Taapsee recently appeared in the recently released film Dobaaraa.
