According to Shatrughan Sinha, Shah Rukh Khan did not thank him for supporting Aryan Khan

Shatrughan Sinha is disappointed that Shah Rukh Khan did not contact him to thank him for defending Aryan Khan during his arrest and subsequent trial in the narcotics case.

Shatrughan Sinha was one of the Bollywood celebrities who came out against Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s detention last year. After the Narcotics Control Bureau detained Aryan and held him in detention for over a month, the renowned actor slammed the agency. As a result, he alleged that NCB was unfair to Aryan and victimized him. Shatrughan claimed his position was justified when Aryan was granted a clean chit last week. However, in a recent interview, the actor-politician said that he received no appreciation from Shah Rukh for his assistance.

Aryan was apprehended in October of last year when the NCB raided a cruise ship in Mumbai. The agency’s charge sheet exonerated the 24-year-old in May after it did not include his name on its list of suspects and declared that no narcotics were detected in him. Shatrugan Sinha has been one of the most outspoken opponents of NCB and supporters of Aryan in recent months.

Following Aryan’s acquittal, the actor told Nation Next, “As a dad, I shared Shah Rukh Khan’s agony.” Even though he was innocent, instead of rehabilitating him, they imprisoned him… I should also mention that, as predicted, I did not get a thank you letter from Shah Rukh, even though I was maybe the most prominent voice advocating for Aryan in all of Mumbai. But I’m known for calling a spade a spade and sticking up for what’s right. I spoke up against what I saw as an injustice. In terms of Shah Rukh, I did not get any appreciation or a thank you note from him.”

When asked whether he had contacted Shah Rukh, Shatrughan said, “No, certainly not.” Why would I? I don’t need his help. I don’t need to contact him; in fact, he should have reached out to me.” He did, however, add that Shah Rukh had never sought his assistance as well.

Shatrughan was most recently seen in the 2018 film Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se, where he portrayed a supporting character. The actor is presently a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Asansol. He previously worked as a minister in Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet.
