Akshay Kumar discusses gaining weight for the film ‘Raksha Bandhan.’
Akshay Kumar, the Bollywood actor, is leaving no stone untouched for his next movie. While he is renowned in Bollywood for being a fitness freak, Akki recently stated that he has bulked up for his role in Aanand L Rai’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
Akshay, who plays the major role from Delhi, said that he had gained 5 kg through natural means to a news source. He described the chance as a godsend since it allowed him to eat his mother’s homemade halwa. He went on to say that the process of losing and gaining weight in healthy ways has always been enjoyable to him.
Interestingly, for the part of a cop in ‘Sooryavanshi,’ Akshay had to maintain a slimmer body and lose six kg.
Meanwhile, he has begun filming in Mumbai for the film ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
‘Raksha Bandhan’ is written by Himanshu Sharma, Aanand’s longstanding partner and National Award-winning screenwriter, known for films like ‘Zero,’ ‘Raanjhanaa,’ and the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ trilogy.
The narrative, which was announced last year during the Raksha Bandhan holiday, is about a brother and sister’s connection. Alka Bhatia, Aanand and Akshay’s sister, is the presenter.
Bhumi Pednekar has already been cast in the film. She announced the news on her social media accounts, writing, “A very unique film and a very wonderful reunion.” I’m ecstatic to be working with two of my favorite creative powerhouses and people once more. I’m ecstatic to be a part of #RakshaBandhan @akshaykumar @aanandlrai’s remarkable, heartfelt story.”
On the job front, Akshay had roles in ‘Atrangi Re,’ ‘Prithviraj,’ ‘Bell Bottom,’ ‘Ram Setu,’ and ‘Bachchan Pandey,’ among others.
