Ananya Panday, who most recently appeared in Gehraiyaan, is currently promoting her upcoming film Liger. The Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda makes his Hindi film debut in the sports-action drama. Ananya recently discussed the ‘cancel culture that exists in Bollywood in a recent interview. The actor stated that she has learned not to take certain things seriously because someone or something is ‘boycotted’ every day. Ananya claimed she even asked if she was being boycotted because ‘everyone is being canceled.’

Laal Singh Chaddha, which is set to be released in theatres on August 11, recently made headlines after a group of social media users called for a ‘boycott’ of the film. Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who star in the film, have both addressed the boycott trend. Before the release of her Netflix film Darlings, actor Alia Bhatt faced backlash from some social media users, with the hashtag ‘boycott Alia Bhatt’ trending on Twitter.

Ananya has now spoken out about the recent trend of boycotting films and celebrities. “I believe it’s a cycle.” Every day, someone is boycotted or all events are canceled. We’re getting off track. I even asked if I had been boycotted or if I was still fine. Every day, I learn something new. This is what I gathered. You must learn how to filter information. You should be aware of what should be taken seriously. “I don’t take them seriously,” Ananya said in an interview with India Today.

Puri Jagannadh directed Ananya’s first pan-Indian film Liger, which will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on August 25. It is Ananya and Vijay Deverakonda’s first collaboration. Liger is a collaboration between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Puri Connects. American boxer Mike Tyson makes a cameo appearance in the film, which also stars Ramya Krishnan in a key role.

Ananya will then appear in the film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav.
