As ‘Boycott Brahmastra’ continues to trend on Twitter, here are some comments from Internet users

Boycott Brahmastra

After the failures of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Vijay Deverakonda’s Liger, netizens are now targeting Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Brahmastra as part of the continuing ‘Boycott’ trend in Bollywood. Soon after the announcement of Ayan Mukerji’s directing, the film and its cast have been receiving criticism from Internet users, who have also made the hashtag “Boycott Brahmastra” trending on Twitter. As the film’s release date, September 9, 2022, approaches, the hashtag continues to rise on Twitter.

“Boycott Brahmastra” is still trending on Twitter.

The ‘Bollywood boycott’ movement is sweeping the internet, with several users voicing their displeasure with different Bollywood film-related concerns. Internet users are outraged that Tollywood actors and actresses are providing their support to Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film Brahmastra, which is the subject of a boycott movement. Recent sightings of SS Rajamouli, Jr. NTR and other stars promoting the film elicited several audience responses urging the director not to promote the film.

Meanwhile, the ‘Boycott Brahmastra’ hashtag continues to trend swiftly on Twitter with over 22,000 messages containing hateful comments from diverse persons. Numerous users rushed to their official Twitter accounts to provide screenshots of unbooked seats. On the other hand, some uploaded snippets from the Brahmastra teaser in which Ranbir Kapoor was seen wearing shoes while entering a temple and likened it to similar situations in Tollywood films in which the details were handled. Some others also uploaded images of themselves unfollowing Alia Bhatt and other Bollywood actresses on social media. Take a peek at the reactions of some Internet users-

In addition to Alia Bhatt’s statement about encouraging people not to watch her films if they don’t like her, Ranbir Kapoor’s previous interview in which he described himself as a “huge beef man” also created controversy and offended a portion of the online community. Moreover, questions of nepotism are always at the heart of the “Boycott” movement, and this remains the case in the Brahmastra dispute.
