Brahmastra box office collection Day 1: Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt film defies Bollywood’s curse, becomes the highest non-holiday release

Brahmastra

The most anticipated Indian film of the year, Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, was released on Friday, and it appears that the film has lived up to the anticipation. According to estimates, the picture has had a solid opening weekend at the box office.

the film’s worldwide gross was between Rs. 36.50 and Rs. 38.50 crores on its opening day, making it the most successful non-holiday release. BoxOfficeIndia.com reports that Brahmastra has grossed between 35 and 36 crore rupees.

2022 has been a dismal year for Bollywood at the box office, so a lot is riding on the success of Brahmastra. Except for a handful of films such as Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and The Kashmir Files, no other film has rung the cash registers.

It cost Rs 410 crore to produce, making it the costliest film in Hindi cinema. Previously, this record was held by Thugs of Hindostan, which cost over Rs 310 crore to produce.

However, the film’s reviews are not particularly impressive. The Indian Express’s Shubhra Gupta gave the film 1.5 stars and commented in her review, “Here’s how this highly anticipated Dharma movie delivered on its promise. Never-before-seen special effects There is no argument against this claim. I can only think of Baahubali by SS Rajamouli as a comparable film. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are one of Bollywood’s most attractive couples, on and off screen. Bookend the ed with the unexpected presence of Shah Rukh Khan and the one and only Amitabh Bachchan, with the pleasant Nagarjuna enhancing the middle. Could there be anything better? It may have and should have existed, but it does not.”
