In the film, Akshay Kumar portrays Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan. Prithviraj was a long time coming, according to writer-director Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who lived with the narrative for 18 years before making the film.

In the forthcoming epic historical film Prithviraj, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar portrays legendary Rajput ruler Prithviraj Chauhan. The film, which also stars Manushi Chhillar, is based on the epic poem Prithviraj Raso by medieval poet Chand Bardai.

Chandraprakash Dwivedi wrote and directed the film. The filmmaker has said that Prithviraj was a long time in the making and that he lived with the narrative for 18 years before making the film. Dwivedi further said that the film is a dream project of his.

It has always been a goal of mine to work on Prithviraj. A script that I’ve been working on for a long time, due to the substantial research required before I could begin writing the script started to produce a film about this great and renowned monarch. “Prithviraj’s final study took around six months for me to be comfortable that every single fact was confirmed numerous times,” Dwivedi stated.

In the present day, as a writer and director, I’m quite pleased that I took this time before achieving my goal.” There has never been a Samrat like Prithviraj in our history, and I believe that our film is a worthy homage to his gallantry and noble manner of life,” he remarked.

Akshay has previously commented about portraying Prithviraj Chauhan in the historical drama, describing it as a homage to his heroics and life. “The more I learned about him, the more I was impressed by how he lived and breathed every single second of his beautiful life for his nation and his principles,” he added.

Other actors in Prithviraj include Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood.

The film, which is being produced by Yash Raj Films, will be released on June 3rd.
