Dilip Kumar

Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar may be seen in a photo from Prem Nath’s 1952 wedding to Bina Rai. Krishna, Prem’s sister, married Raj.

In 1952, late actor Prem Nath married actress Bina Rai. His brother-in-law Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, and their families attended the wedding. A photo of Raj, his son Randhir Kapoor, and Dilip was uploaded online last year, making their supporters homesick.

Prem is seated on a horse in the photograph, and it seems that tiny Randhir is also seated on it as his’sehbala.’ Raj Kapoor and Dilip Kumar are also shown in the photo as ‘baraatis.’

Pre-son Monty Prem Nath discussed his parents’ love story in a 2017 interview with Filmfare. He said, “Mom (the late Bina Rai) was a fan of dad.” They originally collaborated in Aurat (1953). Mom was terrified in front of a celebrity. Her hands trembled as she fired the gun. So Papa wrapped flowers around her hand to disguise it. Her straightforwardness drew Papa in. They eventually fell in love and married. Randhir Kapoor, who was a youngster at the time, rode on the horse as the Agarwala (best man).”

“After my parents married, they formed their manufacturing facility,” he continued (P.N. Films). Shagufa was their first product (1953). However, it did not farefarewelle films that came after it – Prisoner of Golconda, Samundar, Hamara Watan, and Chengiz Khan – fared much worse. Their appeal was no longer effective when they married. However, her films with different heroes, like as Anarkali (1953), Taj Mahal (1963), and Ghunghat (1960), were commercial successes. Her performance in Ghunghat earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Papa’s career, on the other hand, plummeted.”

While shooting their 1953 picture Aurat, Prem and Bina fell in love. They married in 1952 and had two children, Monty and Prem Krishen. Prem died of a heart attack in 1992, at the age of 66.

Raj Kapoor’s father, Prithviraj Kapoor, arranged his son’s marriage with Krishna, Prem Nath’s sister. Randhir and Rishi Kapoor married in 1946 and have five children: Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor, Reema Kapoor, and Ritu Nanda.

Prem has acted in several films, including Aan (1952), Teesri Manzil (1966), Johny Mera Naam (1970), Tere Mere Sapne (1971), Roti Kapada Aur Makaan (1974), Dharmatma (1975), Kalicharan (1976), Desh Premee (1982), and others. He featured in Awaara (1951), Dharam Karam (1975), and Aag (1976) with Raj (1948).
