India vs Australia: Jasprit Bumrah is fit, says Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav confirmed on Thursday that fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is healthy and ready to play in the second T20 International against Australia.

Yadav said at the press conference before the game, “Everyone is fit and ready to play, including Jasprit Bumrah.” On Friday, India will play Australia at Nagpur for the second T20.

In the first T20I between India and Australia in Mohali, India’s death bowling wasn’t up to par. Without Jasprit Bumrah, India’s weaknesses with the ball were shown as Australia easily beat the 209-run goal.

Australia needed 40 runs in three overs when Harshal Patel came to bowl the 18th over. Matthew Wade and Tim David scored 22 runs in Harshal’s last over, which changed the game in favor of the visitors.

Harshal looked tired in his first game back, and in his four overs, he gave up 49 runs.

“Give him a break,” Suryakumar Yadav said. “He’s coming back from an injury.”
“Harshal’s slower balls and changes are hard to figure out. I don’t know what he will do in the nets, but I can tell you that you can’t guess what he will do. He is a great liar. “He’s been practicing bowling a lot,” he said.

After the team lost the first game, all-rounder Hardik Pandya said that the team management didn’t want to rush Jasprit Bumrah back from his injury.

On India’s way of batting

In the first game of the series, India’s aggressive approach paid off. Even though Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were both out early, India still scored 208 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a 25-ball 46 on Tuesday, said, “Everyone is doing their job. They know their responsibilities and what they want to do in different situations.”

“Openers are very good at what they do. Then we set up the middle of the game, and the finishers did a great job of finishing it off. Everything went as planned, and we’ll try to keep doing the same thing in the future,” he said.

On batting at 4

Suryakumar Yadav says he is pleased to bat at No. 4 and that he is very flexible and can bat anywhere. “I am quite flexible. I do plan for everything. I am very adaptable and can hit anywhere. There is no plan like that, but the planning has been great,” he said.
