Jackie Shroff on Dilip Kumar’s demise: Blessed to the legend

The tragedy king, Dilip Kumar, breathed his life today, marking the end of an era. After a lengthy battle with sickness, the legend passed away at the age of 98. He had been hospitalized at the Hinduja Hospital’s critical care unit (ICU), a non-COVID-19 institution, since Tuesday.SeetaGeeta reached out to Jackie Shroff, a Bollywood veteran who shared the screen with the late Dilip Saab, and Shroff shared a flashback photo of himself and the late actor with a broken heart.

“It was an honor to share screen time with the legend. My deepest sympathies to the family. He was India’s most powerful cinematic pillar. I don’t know how to express sorrow for Dilip Sir. He’s been through so much in the last 15 years, and there’s a place I think he should go now. Without a doubt, Dilip Saab was the man of the century in Indian film. My biggest hero, my biggest teacher. I worked with him on three projects over the course of 20 years “Jackie expresses his sadness as he remembers the icon.

“More than that, he changed the course of my life. He offered a new way of looking at film, as well as life, society, and nationalism. I’ll never forget him. Dilip Saab jaisa koi na tha, koi hai, ya koi Hoga, koi hai, ya koi Hoga (There has never been, nor will there ever be, anyone like him.) Apart from that, I’m at a loss for words. As a person, a professional, and a citizen, he was outstanding. He also taught me how to make wonderful films and how to be a decent person. I’d want to send my sympathies to his family. I pray that his soul rests in peace “he continues.

Shroff goes on, “I first met him on the shoot of ‘Karma.’ And I had the feeling that my life had come full circle. I had the pleasure of working with Dev and Dilip Saab. Working with these two legends was a blast. And I could only imagine how anxious I was when I first approached Dilip sir during the filming of ‘Karma’ and delivered my dialogue. Even when I didn’t have any scenes, I would sit and watch how he moved and acted. It made me pleased just to see him. I miss him terribly. When I saw him at events, I used to massage his feet and hold discussions with him.”

Jackie Shroff and Dilip Kumar collaborated on the films “Saudagar,” “Karma,” and “Raj Kapoor.” “I announce the loss of our dear Dilip Saab, who passed away a few minutes ago, with a sad heart and great grief. We come from God and return to Him “Faisal Farooqui, a family friend, said on the actor’s Twitter account this morning.
