Karan Johar ‘begs’ industry friends to appear on Koffee With Karan in a new teaser

Karan Johar

Karan Johar is seen begging and pleading with his industry friends to appear on his celebrity talk show in a new teaser for Koffee With Karan season 7.

The seventh season of Karan Johar’s popular chat shows Koffee With Karan will air soon. According to a new teaser for the show released on Tuesday by streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar, Karan is having difficulty convincing his Bollywood friends to appear on the show. In a new video, the filmmaker can be seen on the phone pleading with unnamed and unseen film industry friends who are hesitant to return to his show.

Karan begins the teaser by saying that he knows everyone is looking forward to the new season of Koffee With Karan. This is followed by a montage of some of the mean comments he and the show receive online. Following that, Karan says,’ maybe not everyone,’ but he knows his Bollywood friends are excited to be on his show.

This comes after a hilarious segment in which Karan is seen on the phone pleading and begging various celebrities to appear on the show. He even offers bribes in the form of the show’s famous Koffee hampers and a role in one of his films, but no one appears to be interested. One fan commented on the video Karan shared, saying, “Hilarious, love the humor.” “This is the most honest promo I’ve ever seen,” said another.

Koffee With Karan premiered on Star World in 2004. The upcoming season will be the first to be streamed on OTT rather than televised, beginning July 7. The chat show is known for its guests’ candid confessions and occasionally divisive opinions.

Many celebrities have publicly stated that they frequently regret the things they say on the show. Ranbir Kapoor started on an AIB Podcast in 2017: “He (Karan) is making money off of us.” We come, and we get screwed all year. And it isn’t right. Because it’s not fair, Anushka (Sharma, his co-star in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) and I were going to protest and bring the entire film industry together.”

Guests on the show have included Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Twinkle Khanna, Rani Mukerji, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ekta Kapoor, John Abraham, Lara Dutta, and many more.
