Karan Johar on why Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor did not come on Koffee with Karan 7

Karan Johar is not especially bothered by the criticism of the most recent season of Koffee with Karan. Alia Bhatt personally asked KJo not to mention her in public because of his frequent questions about her sexual life.

Karan Johar told Bollywood Hungama that he will continue to pursue his own interests. He stated, “Perhaps I’m fascinated about the sexual lives of others, so I inquired about them. Perhaps I am extremely proud of Alia, and it shows in every discussion I have. Therefore, I must self-regulate when I receive such criticism. I’ve read it.

While numerous regulars, like Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Alia Bhatt, appeared on this season’s Koffee, many other major stars did not. Fans missed Shah Rukh Khan, who has appeared on the programme multiple times. On the other side, it is well-known that Ranbir Kapoor avoids discussion shows out of fear of further scandal.

Karan revealed why they did not appear: “There were 12 episodes. We were restricted to calling no more than 26 individuals. We called Ranbir, and he joked that he would never appear on KWK; I’ll try to convince him for the upcoming season. I hope we can do something substantial with Shah Rukh Khan for the upcoming season, as he has been such an integral part of the show and his appearances have always been beautiful.” However, Gauri Khan did appear on the show, and during the ‘Call Karan’ part, she called SRK, to the delight of fans who were glad to hear his voice on the show.

KJo explained what has changed about the competition by stating that contestants are now “far better prepared” “They’re a lot more cautious with rapid fire, and I’m hoping we’ll cross the bridge in the upcoming season. Everyone appears more guarded than they were, and it’s not always the syntax of the coffee. They wish to avoid upsetting anyone. There is a thin line between being humorous and being offensive, and I hope we can walk it.” When she appeared on the show with Aamir Khan, Kareena, who is typically known to light up KWK with her candour and bluntness, was rather restrained.
