Karan Johar says it was “unfair” for people to “troll and bash” Bollywood and him during the pandemic

Karan Johar

Karan Johar never shies away from discussing trolling or the negative social media comments he receives. Several times, the filmmaker has disclosed the same information. KJo mentioned in a recent interview that the coronavirus outbreak was difficult for Bollywood due to the social media “beating” it endured. He described it as a “bad time” and said that he was the focus of hostility.

Due to the widespread trolls and attacks, Bollywood went through a particularly difficult period. It was a terrible moment. Particularly, I felt as though I was in the epicentre of so much hatred. It was something I had never anticipated or envisioned. I thought that so much of what was said and written was unjust,” KJo told Bollywood Hungama.

Karan Johar also stated that he had to be courageous in order to cope with all the social media insults, and that he is relieved that the focus is back on business. “Yet, one must pick themselves up and move on. Because I am ultimately responsible to my employer, my mother, and my family. I simply felt the need to be resilient and take everything in stride. Being resilient was crucial during the particular period. It was completely unneeded, and I am relieved that we can now concentrate on our business. That is exactly what I did. I am completely focused on the job zone. Perhaps not everyone emerged as a more resilient individual, but I’d like to believe that many did,” the 50-year-old director noted.
