Mimi’s teaser was posted on social media on Tuesday, and it quickly became a social media sensation. Kriti Sanon plays the eponymous character in the film, which follows her journey from being an aspiring dancer in a tiny village to learning about surrogacy and fully accepting parenthood. Of course, it’s not as simple as it appears. The trailer depicts the events as a roller-coaster. From locating the perfect location for Mimi to stay to concealing her pregnancy, to dealing with her dramatic parents, there’s a lot on Mimi’s plate (Supriya Pathak plays her mom). The events that unfold over the following nine months as Mimi becomes a surrogate mother are a whirlwind of emotions, as is the trailer. Mimi’s buddy, Pankaj Tripathi, sticks by her through thick and thin, and his one-liners and incredible comic timing serve him well. Laxman Utekar directed the film, which also stars Sai Tamhankar and Manoj Pahwa and was produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film’s music was composed by AR Rahman.
