Organizer postpones Salman Khan’s Kolkata show
Reports said that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s show Da-Bangg was canceled because of safety concerns after he got a threat email. The show was originally supposed to happen in April. Sonakshi Sinha, Jacqueline Fernandez, Prabhudheva, Ayush Sharma, and Guru Randhawa were all going to be on it. On Wednesday, a person in charge of putting on the show said that it is not canceled but will be put off.
One of the show’s organizers, Rajdeep Chakraborty, has denied that Salman’s show is being canceled and said that it will now take place in May or June rather than April.
Rajdeep told The Times of India that Salman Khan’s team had been in Kolkata in November and December of last year and worked out all of the “nitty-gritty” details of the tour. He also said that he now knows that “the only problem they have is with Jacqueline Fernandez’s date,” which is something they are working on. Rajdeep said that the new date for the show will be announced soon, and he hopes that it will be held at Eco Park, which is Kolkata’s biggest venue.
Salman’s brother Sohail Khan reportedly traveled to Kolkata in November of last year with his private security guard Shera to check out the security measures. The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actor was also scheduled to pay West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee a “courtesy visit” after the performance.
