Samrat Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar, had a mediocre weekend at the box office. In its first weekend, the film grossed about 39 crores. The film, directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Chahamana dynasty monarch. Manushi made her Bollywood debut as Princess Sanyogita in the film.

The historical drama debuted in theatres on Friday, grossing 10.70 crores. It went on to earn 12.50 crore on Saturday before increasing to about 16crorese on Sunday.

“The film’s weekend box office is about 39 crore nett plus, with Sunday projected to dip in the 15.75-16 crore nett zone,” Boxofficeindia.com stated. “Samrat Prithviraj had a decent first weekend as it performed strong business in parts of India but ordinary to poor business in other sections,” it said. The film was mostly driven by UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, and MP, which all put up strong numbers on Sunday, which is the greatest day for these regions.”

Akshay had sent a letter a day before the film’s premiere, asking audiences not to reveal spoilers from the film. “This is our earnest plea to everyone viewing the film not to divulge spoilers that expose various components of our picture that are supposed to be awe-inspiring,” he stated. We intend to truly amuse you exclusively on the big screen.”

Before the film’s release, Akshay and Manushi travelled to Varanasi to do pooja on the Ganga ghats. Akshay also bathed in the sacred river.
