Ram Charan

Actor Ram Charan was in Delhi for an event after returning to India after attending the 2023 Oscars, where he spoke at length about RRR, the Oscars, his acting career, future projects, and much more.

On Friday, the actor was met by a sea of admirers and supporters at the Delhi airport. RRR made history at the 95th Academy Awards by becoming the first Indian production to win an Oscar for Original Song. Naatu Naatu was played live at the 2023 Oscars ceremony and received a standing ovation. Deepika Padukone, the actress, launched the performance on stage.

When asked about the emergence of south Indian film and whether he considered himself a global superstar at the occasion, the actor answered, “Absolutely. This has begun, and it has had a significant impact on our films. It is happening in Telugu with Baahubali and is now surpassing all boundaries. RRR is a major hit for me not because it’s from the South. From Bengal to Tamil Nadu in the south, we have a plethora of industry. We have excellent directors. And I believe that the stories that are anchored in our stories will have the greatest impact on the West… Magadheera was the same way. Lagaan was the same way. It was their own story, according to the Korean visitor. Everyone who creates films based on their culture, mythology, difficulties, and emotions – India has it all. And the West and the global audience are willing to accept someone who is unique.”

The RRR song Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song, and composer MM Keeravaani and lyricist Chandrabose accepted the trophy on stage. Naatu Naatu has truly become a global phenomenon in recent months. The music had audiences jumping in the aisles and hooting at all of its recent showing in the west. RRR is a fictional story based on the lives of two genuine heroes and well-known revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, set in the 1920s before to independence. Ram Charan played Ram, while Jr NTR played Bheem.

Ram’s next appearance will be in Shankar’s RC 15. In the Telugu film, he will co-star with Kiara Advani.
