Ranbir Kapoor claims he was only given the role of the son in Shamshera

Ranbir Kapoor has said that he was first assigned just one part in Shamshera, but he found the premise interesting and therefore persuaded the film’s director and producer.

In his forthcoming film, Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor plays both father and son, and he has disclosed that director Karan Malhotra and producer Aditya Chopra first asked him for the part of the son alone. Ranbir Kapoor’s comeback to cinema comes four years after his previous appearance in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju. In the film, Sanjay Dutt portrays the adversary, while Vaani Kapoor plays a key part.

Balli is the son in the film, while Shamshera is the father. In a press release, Ranbir said that he was not originally given a dual part in the film. When told of the proposal, the speaker wasn’t assigned a dual duty. My first thought of Aditya Chopra and Karan Malhotra, when I became aware of the storyline, was, ‘Let me play the father as well since it’s such a terrific character.’ It’s a fascinating, delicious role for an actor to perform.’ Then I had to persuade Adi and Karan. Karan, I believe, conducted a few more look tests after that and was also persuaded. So, although it wasn’t first presented to me, it captivated me as an actor. They were two separate personas, and for an actor like myself, playing two distinct roles and making them distinct was both tough and thrilling.”

Shamshera is the narrative of a guy who becomes a slave and then becomes a leader for the sake of his tribe’s protection. Shamshera takes place in the 1800s in India’s heartland. On July 22, it will be released theatrically in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The first trailer for the film was released online on Friday, June 24, to mixed reviews. Sanjay Dutt and Karan Malhotra previously collaborated on Agneepath, and he also portrayed the major antagonist in the 2012 picture. Agneepath, a remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s film of the same name, stars Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan.

Following Shamshera, Ranbir will appear in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra Part One, his debut film with his wife Alia Bhatt. The movie also has appearances by Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna.
