Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey has been postponed due to Covid 19

Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, has been pushed back again more. The producers confirmed the news in an official release.

Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur have been hard at work promoting Jersey. After several delays, the film was set to be released on December 31. However, due to an increase of Covid and Omicron cases in the country, Jersey’s release date has been pushed back once further. The film’s producers have issued an official statement on the subject.

JERSEY RELEASE HAS BEEN POSTPONED

With the increase of Covid and Omicron cases in the country, several states have already begun to close down public meeting areas such as theatres, spas, gyms, and so on. As a result, the producers of Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur’s Jersey have chosen to delay the film’s theatrical debut. “In light of the present circumstances and new covid restrictions, we have chosen to postpone the theatre premiere of our picture Jersey,” according to the official statement.

Taran Adarsh, a film critic, also verified the news on Twitter, writing, “#Xclusiv… #BreakingNews… #Jersey POSTPONED… WON’T RELEASE ON 31 DEC… A new date will be announced in the near future… “Industry speculation that #Jersey would be released on Direct-to-OTT is FALSE (sic).”

THE JERSEY TRAILER CAUSED QUITE A COMmotion
The trailer for Jersey was a hit with everyone. Prior to the premiere of Jersey’s trailer, Shahid Kapoor posted an emotional statement on Instagram. It is readable “NOW IS THE TIME! We have waited two years to share this feeling with you. This is a unique story. This group is unique. This character is unique. And the fact that we get to share it with you all on the big screen is extra fantastic. I’m at a loss for words to explain how grateful I am. I hope you all felt the same way I did when I played him.

Shahid had wrapped the film’s shoot in December 2020. We hope the new release date of Jersey is out soon.
