Shark Tank India season 2: Meet the new shark, Car Dekho CEO Amit Jain

Shark Tank India

Ashneer Grover and Ghazal Alagh have been replaced in the second season of Shark Tank India by Amit Jain. Sony Entertainment Television revealed the new shark in a Tuesday promotional video. Amit Jain is the co-founder and CEO of Car Dekho, an online marketplace for the sale and purchase of pre-owned automobiles.

Ashneer was the founder of BharatPe, a financial startup. Earlier this year, he was fired from his work and surrounded by scandal for alleged fraud. Due to his no-nonsense demeanor, he was a fan favorite among the crowd, however, he and Ghazal will not be returning with the other five sharks.

The sole new entry is Amit. He is originally from Jaipur and attended IIT Delhi. He worked for a firm in Austin, Texas for some time before launching his first venture there. In 2007, he co-founded Car Dekho with his brother, which he said on the HT Smartcast program Minding My Business: The CEO Story had become a “billion-dollar corporation.”

When asked if he makes difficult business choices using his intellect or emotions, he said, “I believe I am both, depending on the situation. I am usually really objective. Concerning his brand’s expansion into other nations, he said, “We are now in South East Asia. Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines are three countries where we have previously conducted business. It’s been a terrific beginning.”

In addition to Amit Jain, returning sharks include Vineeta Singh from Sugar Cosmetics, Anupam Mittal from Shaadi.com, Peyush Bansal from Lenskart, Namita Thapar from Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and Aman Gupta from BoAt.
