Sidharth Shukla’s untimely death last year at the age of 40 stunned the entertainment industry. Shehnaaz Gill, his Bigg Boss co-contestant and close friend, was among those who suffered the most. Shehnaaz hardly went out in the first few days and even avoided promoting her film Honsla Rakh for a while. However, the actor returned to work and even put on a positive public face. In a recent interview, Shehnaaz Gill admitted that she purposefully avoided expressing her emotions in public, even when she was in pain.

Sidharth and Shehnaaz first met on Bigg Boss in 2019, where he won and she came in second place. Their friendship was widely publicised, with fans dubbing them SidNaaz. They were rumored to be dating, but neither actor confirmed or denied it. Sidharth Shukla died in September 2021 of a heart attack.

People would think you were weak, and I never want to come across as such. But I’ve never been one to try to keep my emotions a secret. I handled it myself, and I am completely fine with it.”

Shehnaaz Gill paid tribute to Sidharth with a music video titled Tu Yaheen Hai sometime after his death. While many fans praised her gesture, others chastised her and accused her of profiting from Sidharth’s death.”People don’t know the whole story, therefore how can they give their opinion?” So it was out of courtesy. And it’s okay, people who don’t know anything about it say, why should we be sad? Allow them to keep whatever knowledge they have.”

Shehnaaz’s first Bollywood movie will be Salman Khan’s Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, which will come out next year. There were rumors that Shehnaaz had been replaced in the film, but the actor recently addressed them in a social media post, saying that such news entertains her.
