Sidharth Malhotra asserts that Nora Fatehi’s Manike is not only an ‘item number’ and refers to it as the film’s primary tune

Actor Sidharth Malhotra has stated that the song Manike from his most recent album Thank God is not only a “item song.” In a recent interview, Sidharth commented on the song’s mixed reception. He also mentioned the film’s legal concerns and stated that it is unfair to judge a picture based on a single clip.

Manike, performed by Sri Lankan artist Yohani and Jubin Nautiyal, is a remake of the popular song Manika Mage Hithe from 2021. The Thank God team announced a year ago that Yohani will make her singing debut with the Hindi rendition of her hit song. This song was performed by Sidharth and Nora Fatahi.

Sidharth stated in an interview with News18, “It is the most important song in the film. Nora (Fatehi) portrays an intriguing character; she’s not just there for the music. As opposed to a mere item song, it is extremely well-integrated into the narrative. We’re pleased that folks enjoy it. Nora and I have performed numerous songs together in the past, but Manike is the first time I’ve danced with her. We also performed a song in Marjaavaan (Ek Toh Kum Zindagani) where I was merely observing her dance. That time, I told her, “The next time we perform a song, I’ll be sure to execute some dance steps, and that’s exactly what we did with Manike.”

Additionally, Sidharth stated, “When reading a screenplay, you are looking at the tale. I believe that it is often unfair to judge an entire film based on a single clip. A book cannot be judged by its cover. I’m waiting for people to watch the entire two-hour film before we can have a conversation about why a character is saying anything. Then they can determine what we’ve accomplished and our tone and goal. That is the proper method to evaluate a film.”

The film is directed by Indra Kumar and stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. The picture, which debuted in Indian theatres on Tuesday, grossed 8.10 crore on its opening day.

In addition, Sidharth stars alongside Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna in Yodha. The movie is set to be shown for the first time on November 11. The director of the action thriller is Sagar Ambre. In addition, he has Shantanu Bagchi’s spy thriller Mission Majnu starring Rashmika Mandanna and Rohit Shetty’s web series Indian Police Force starring Shilpa Shetty and Vivek Oberoi.
