‘Vikram Vedha’ would star Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.

The Hindi adaptation of the Tamil blockbuster film “Vikram Vedha” would star Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan. The producers of the original film, Pushkar-Gayathri, will helm the remake.

Following their success in Tamil with the R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi blockbuster, the filmmaker pair Pushkar-Gayathri will now direct the Hindi version, starring Hrithik and Saif Ali Khan. On September 30, 2022, the film will be released in theatres.

The film is based on the old legend of Vikram-Betaal, in which a cunning criminal succeeds to elude a diligent cop by presenting a fresh tale based on his own life.

Aamir Khan was said to be playing Vedha in an earlier version of the film. However, for reasons unknown to him, the ‘PK’ actor allegedly dropped out of the film, and Hrithik was cast as the lead.

Meanwhile, on the job front, Saif will next be seen in the film ‘Bhoot Police,’ in which he will portray a ghostbuster. Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Yami Gautam also feature in the film.

Hrithik will, on the other hand, be collaborating for the first time with none other than Deepika Padukone in his upcoming project. The film is named ‘Fighter,’ and it is directed by Siddharth Anand. According to reports, this is India’s first aerial action franchise.

R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi are featured in the Tamil film Vikram Vedha. The action-thriller was released in 2017 and was well-received at the box office. Madhavan portrayed Vikram, a police officer, and Vijay played Vedha, a criminal and drug smuggler. Pushkar and Gayathri directed the film, and they will also direct the Hindi version.

The Indian folktale Baital Pachisi inspired Vikram Vedha. The film follows Vikram (Madhavan), a police officer who sets out to find and murder a criminal named Vedha (Sethupathi). After Vedha gives himself up freely, he tells Vikram three stories that alter his ideas of virtue and evil. S Sashikanth produced the film, which also stars Shraddha Srinath.
