Dia Mirza has been named a ‘Champion of Change’ award

The award ceremony honored those who have worked to raise awareness in the domains of social welfare, health care, education, culture, and sports in accordance with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s democratic values. Dia Mirza was honored for her outstanding contribution in the sphere of social welfare in the state as a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador and United Nations Secretary-General Advocate for Sustainable Development Goals, Global Ambassador IFAW. Dia Mirza was honored with the ‘Champion of Change’ award.

The prize was presented by the Interactive Forum on Indian Economy (IFIE), a non-profit organization that has previously hosted events with figures such as Vice-President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu, and former President of India, late Shri Pranab Mukherjee.

Shri M. K. Stalin (CM of Tamil Nadu), Shri Hemant Soren (CM of Jharkhand), and Shri Manish Sisodia are among the previous winners (Deputy CM of Delhi). On September 30, H.E. Shri Bhagat Singh Koshiyari (Governor of Maharashtra) presented Dia with the award at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai. Dia Mirza has been named a ‘Champion of Change’ award.

Sharing a message for her son, she wrote, “Avyaan, you have taught us humility, grace, and power of prayer. Stay blessed baby. You complete us in every way. All our family and friends this time would not have been half as comforting without your strength and prayers. Thank YOU all. You know who you are.  Have to add, to all the parents out there who are coping with their premies being in NICU, love, strength, and prayers for you and your little ones.”

Earlier this year, Dia Mirza married Vaibhav Rekhi. After they returned from their Maldives vacation, she announced her pregnancy. Ayaan was born prematurely on May 14 and spent nearly two months in the neonatal intensive care unit (newborn intensive care unit).
