The film, starring Cillian Murphy in the main role, has profited from its early pre-bookings. In fact, some Oppenheimer tickets priced at 2,450 are sold out on the opening day of the film in India.

The most costly tickets in the country cost 2,450 (before taxes) and are sold out. The costly tickets are for IMAX screenings at PVR ICON: Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel in Mumbai at 7 and 10 p.m. on July 21, the film’s opening day.

Last week, Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One grossed approximately 12.50 crore on its first day of release in India. The premiere of Oppenheimer was moved up an hour to allow the cast to walk the red carpet prior to the announcement.
