EXCLUSIVE! Ali Abbas Zafar denies that Bade Miyan Chote Miyan would be cancelled: Floors will be installed before the end of this year
Though there have been rumors that the film starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff may be shelved, the director-producer has cleared the air.
Ali Abbas Zafar has rejected reports that his next project, a remake of 1998’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, has been shelved. “This is completely false. “We’re on track, and there’s no truth to the shelving rumours,” Zafar clarifies.
The filmmaker confirms that the Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff film is on track, saying, “We are now working on the pre-production.” I have no idea where these rumours are coming from. Months of pre-production are required for a film of this size. We’ll start shooting in the UK towards the end of this year or early next.”
After reality star, Kamal R Khan aka KRK tweeted, ‘Producer, director Ali Abbas Zafar has chosen not to create film #bademiyanchotemiyan with Akshay and Tiger…’, suspicions flew. The tweet prompted many to believe that the film had been shelved, however, this does not seem to be the case.
The original had Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda, while the remake will include Kumar and Shroff. An announcement video was posted in February, and the film is set to enter theatres around Christmas 2023.
