The release date of the forthcoming film Emergency was announced by Kangana Ranaut one day after she attended the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. Tuesday, Kangana also uploaded a new poster for Emergency to Instagram. Kangana is also credited with the direction and writing of the film.

Kangana was portrayed on the poster as former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She wrote in the post’s caption, “Discover the truth regarding India’s darkest hour. Declaring a state of emergency on June 14, 2024. Become a living embodiment of history as the most formidable and reviled prime minister. The tempest of Indira Gandhi enters theatres. Cinematic emergency on June 14, 2024.”
Kangana, according to the news agency PTI, issued the following statement: “Emergency is my second directorial endeavour after Manikarnika and my most ambitious project to date; it features the finest Indian and international actors concocting a grand period drama with a substantial budget.” Due to alterations in her timetable, the film’s original November 24, 2023 release date was rescheduled.
Emergency, a mega-budget film produced by Manikarnika Films and Zed Studios, is hailed as a depiction of the most contentious spectacle in the annals of Indian democracy.
Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik are also featured in the film. Ritesh Shah is the author of the film’s screenplay and dialogue. In the film, which is based on the biography of the late politician and former prime minister Indira Gandhi, Kangana portrays the title character. Emergency is the inaugural independent film directed by Kangana.
