Kashmir Files’ Vivek Agnihotri Slams Bollywood: “Ha Ha Ha, Your Songs Are Good…” Nobody Wants to Recreate Our Story

Kashmir Files

Vivek Agnihotri, a Bollywood director, is never afraid to speak up on whatever is going on in the world. The filmmaker has been in the news recently due to the controversy surrounding his most recent film, The Kashmir Files. The director frequently takes to social media to criticise the industry and its double standards and hypocrisy. Vivek Agnihotri, who is now in the spotlight for his upcoming film The Kashmir Files Unreported, recently blasted the business, claiming that people are laughing at them.

Following the success of The Kashmir Files at the box office, he is preparing to return with yet another unseen aspect of the Kashmiri Pandit massacre that occurred in the valley. He recently got down for a comprehensive interview ahead of its release, where he discussed how Bollywood is all about star-driven films. Scroll down for more information.

“The journey began long ago when I made Buddha In A Traffic Jam,” Vivek Agnihotri explained. I used to become bored with how Bollywood works and runs because everything is so star-driven that no one cares about storylines. Then there was a time when films were solely about entertainment, entertainment, and more entertainment. I believe we sent the wrong signal since, if films are merely for entertainment, there is no difference between them and the circus.”

He went on to say that Bollywood has become a laughingstock for people who are constantly taught that their clothes are good and not duplicates. He, on the other hand, believes that no one wants to replicate the stories.

“I don’t have a grudge, but I say things about Bollywood because I want Bollywood to change,” Vivek Agnihotri remarked. I want Bollywood to reinvent itself and become the best film industry in the world. I want Bollywood to be a source of pride for India rather than a source of ridicule. ‘Ha ha ha, your songs are fantastic, your costumes are gorgeous, and everyone wants to copy costumes, but nobody wants to copy our tale,’ people say everywhere you go. So, with great care, I express that.”
