Mani Ratnam resumes Ponniyin Selvan shoot in Pondicherry

Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, has resumed filming in Pondicherry. According to sources, the crew would film for a week in Pondicherry before going on to Hyderabad for a month. In 2022, the film, which will be split into two halves, will be released in theatres. However, there is yet to be a formal announcement on Ponniyin Selvan’s release date.

PONNIYIN SELVAN SHOOT BY MANI RATNAM RESUMES
Ponniyin Selvan is one of filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s most ambitious films. In February of this year, the director completed a busy schedule. The crew just resumed work after being placed on lockdown owing to the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Ponniyin Selvan squad is said to have begun their next schedule in Pondicherry, according to reports. The crew will go to Hyderabad for a month after completing this brief agenda. Mani Ratnam is said to be intending to finish the film in a few months.

Ponniyin Selvan will be released in 2022 if all goes according to plan. The film will be split into two parts, according to Mani Ratnam.

PONNIYIN SELVAN CAST AND CREW
Mani Ratnam had wanted to turn Ponniyin Selvan into a film for a decade. The movie is based on Kalki Krishnamoorthy’s Tamil novel of the same name. Arulmozhi Varman and the Chola dynasty are the subjects of Ponniyin Selvan.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Ashwin Kakumanu are among the notable actors in the film. AR Rahman provided the soundtrack for Ponniyin Selvan.
