Nitin Desai

Nitin Desai, a well-known art director, has died. The cops haven’t said anything more about what caused his death yet. On Wednesday morning, his body was found at his N D Studio in Karjat. But the first accounts say that he probably killed himself. We still don’t know more about what caused the death.

Four times, Nitin Desai won the National Award for Best Art Direction. During his 20-year career in Bollywood, he has worked with many well-known directors, such as Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Some of his most famous works are Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Jodha Akbar, Lagaan, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, and Bajirao Mastani. Ashutosh Gowarikar and him worked on the 2019 movie Panipat, which was his last job as an art director. The Art Directors’ Guild Film Society and the American Cinematheque in Hollywood gave him awards for his work.

Nitin Desai’s close friend and BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde said, “I used to talk to him a lot and give him advice. I told him about how Amitabh Bachchan had lost a lot and then come back to life. We had told him that he could start over even if the studio was taken over by loans. The day before, I talked to him.”

In 2003, with the movie Desh Devi Maa Ashapura, Nitin did more than just direct the art for a movie. He also became a director. He also made the Marathi serial Raja Shivchhatrapati, which was very famous. Nitin started ND Studios in Karjat, which is just outside of Mumbai, in 2005. The 52-acre studio has been used for many movie sets, but Jodha Akbar is the one that stands out the most. Hello, Jai Hind! (2011) and Ajintha (2012) are two films he directed.
