Sonali Bendre “regrets” that she did not learn from Aamir Khan while working on the film Sarfarosh

Sonali Bendre and Aamir Khan co-starred in the action-drama film Sarfarosh, released in 1999. Sonali remembered the incident and said that Aamir had always been a perfectionist.

Sonali Bendre has expressed remorse that she did not learn from Aamir Khan during their 1990s collaboration. Sonali and Aamir appeared in the 1999 action film Sarfarosh, with Naseeruddin Shah and Mukesh Rishi. The picture, which was produced and directed by John Matthew Matthan, was a critical and economic triumph.

Sonali, who portrayed Seema, the love interest of Aamir’s character ACP Ajay Singh Rathore, said that he has always been a perfectionist in the profession. One of her few regrets is not learning from him during the shooting of Sarfarosh, as she said.

Sonali told Film Companion that in certain instances it was beneficial to pose questions to the filmmakers of her 90s films, as Aamir did, but that in other instances it was preferable not to do so. Then she said, “However, you’re correct about Aamir. Aamir has always had a meticulous nature. I had such a good time doing Sarfarosh with him because I could see what he was doing. But I lacked the wisdom to appreciate it and learn from it.”

In continuation, Sonali said, “I mean, of course, you learn; every time you interact with someone, you acquire knowledge, but not in a conscious sense.” And I feel like I lost out on that chance when I look back on it. I lacked the maturity to seize that chance. I have very few regrets, but I will have this one.”

Sonali recently made her acting return with The Broken News after her cancer struggle. On June 10, the ZEE5 series, which also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar, began streaming. It is also Sonali’s debut on OTT. According to the Hindustan Times review of the film, “it is pleasant to watch her break the mold and portray a character who is decent but yet has shades of grey”
