Liger, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, was set to be released on September 9, 2021. The film’s development and distribution were both delayed owing to the new coronavirus outbreak. The filmmakers just concluded a schedule in the United States, where they shot several key moments with Mike Tyson.

On December 16, Charmme Kaur, one of the film’s producers, announced the film’s premiere date on social media. She put up a banner that said, “The pan-India film is all set to spill its blood, sweat, and entertainment. On August 25, 2022, the film will be released in theatres all around the world. On December 31st, catch a peek of the mayhem. Aag Laga Denge (sic) this New Year.”

Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, and Karan Johar collaborated on the film Liger. Vijay Deverakonda will portray the role of a boxer in the film. To perform the part with realism, he underwent extensive instruction from professionals. Liger will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, among other languages.

The film would be shot in Telugu and Hindi concurrently, with dubbing in additional languages. Liger will be Vijay Deverakonda’s Hindi debut, while Ananya Panday will make her Telugu debut.
