Why Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan ‘are hits’: People enjoy seeing…

Gadar 2

Hema Malini, a veteran actor and politician, stated that audiences want to view films on the big screen, citing Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and her stepson Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 as examples. Hema stated in an interview with the news agency PTI that OTT platforms are “time pass.” Hema also wished for ‘all the producers to step forward and sign’ her and give her ‘nice roles’.

Hema discusses films in theatres

Hema said to PTI, “Movies on a big screen are very different from what we’re used to. I am accustomed to seeing such films on a large screen. So, these OTT and web series are good for passing the time, but I am unsure of their greatness. Therefore, when Gadar 2 and Pathaan were released in theatres, they were all successful. People enjoy watching films on the large screen, which is distinct from the small screen.”

Pathaan, which was released in January of this year, is an action-thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Shah Rukh Khan. Anil Sharma directed Gadar 2, which was released on August 11 and starred Sunny Deol.

Hema on her film career

When asked if she would accept additional acting roles, Hema responded, “I would like to do it (films). If I am offered some appealing roles, why not? I would like for all producers to approach me and sign me. I am present.”

Hema discussed Baghban.

Hema also discussed her novel Baghban, the publication of which will mark 20 years in October. The 2003 family drama directed by Ravi Chopra centred on an elderly couple, played by Hema and Amitabh Bachchan, who are compelled to live apart because their sons refuse to care for both their parents.

After Baghban, she desired that she and Amitabh had collaborated on many more films together. She continued, ‘unfortunately, it did not occur. Perhaps one need only remember Baghban’. Hema added that it was a pleasure to collaborate with Amitabh. She added that she was hesitant to do the film after a few years had passed, but she went ahead with it anyway.
Hema and Amitabh’s previous ventures

Hema and Amitabh co-starred in films such as Satte Pe Satta, Naseeb, and Nastik, in addition to Baghban. Hema’s most recent appearance was in the 2020 film Shimla Mirchi. In the 2000s, she appeared in Veer-Zaara, Baabul, and Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap, all of which starred Amitabh Bachchan.
