Akshay Kumar inquires of Suniel Shetty, “Kar le thodi Hera Pheri?”

On his birthday, Akshay Kumar hinted at the highly anticipated Hera Pheri sequel by asking Suniel Shetty whether he was interested in doing some “here pheri.” Suniel wished Akshay a happy 55th birthday in the style of their co-star Paresh Rawal, who portrayed Baburao in Hera Pheri.

Suniel Shetty posted a photo of them from their youth with the caption, “Hey Rajuuuuu! Happy birthday re BBA. Have a wonderful one. Have a good one, @akshaykumar!” The response from Akshay Kumar was posted on Instagram Stories. “I am glad for your best wishes, Shyam Bhai. Phir thodi here pheri kar le?” accompanied by a heart and a smiling emoji.

The 2000 film Hera Pheri, directed by Priyadarshan, is regarded as one of the best Bollywood comedies and has become a cult classic over time. Tabu, Asrani, Om Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda starred. The trio of Akshay as Raju, Suniel as Shyam, and Paresh as Baburao reprised their roles in the 2006 sequel Phir Hera Pheri, which also featured Bipasha Basu, Rimi Sen, Johnny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav.

There have been rumors for years that the Hera Pheri franchise will be renewed for a third installment, but confirmation is still needed. The film has a devoted fan base and has inspired several viral memes based on its most famous lines, especially those spoken by Paresh Rawal.

Recently, Akshay Kumar saw the release of his OTT film, Cuttputlli. In this murder mystery, the actor played a police officer. After Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, and Raksha Bandhan, this is his fourth release of the year. However, none of the three theatrical releases generated the anticipated box office revenue. This Diwali, the film Ram Setu will be the last film starring Akshay.
