Akshay Kumar posted a video of himself running through Delhi’s Chandni Chowk. The actor is filming Raksha Bandhan in Chandni Chowk, which is where he was born.

On the sets of the film, the actor went for a morning run in the newly rebuilt Chandni Chowk. This is where the actor was born. He posted a video of himself jogging down the street with a touching message. Raksha Bandhan, directed by Aanand L Rai, also stars Bhumi Pednekar.

The actor got emotional while shooting the film in Chandni Chowk as it is his birthplace. He wrote, “Today’s morning run on the sets of #RakshaBandhan brought back so many memories as it was in my birthplace, Chandni Chowk. And how lovely it was to hear the chatter of the people around, never gets old (sic),” followed by a heart emoji.

For his role in Raksha Bandhan, Akshay Kumar had to add 5 kg. When asked about gaining weight for the film, the actor, who is typically on a strict diet, said he was glad to be able to eat his mother’s halwa. He claimed that gaining weight was a normal process for him. “I appreciate the process of losing or gaining weight for a role because I can do it in a healthy way,” he continued. In a completely natural way, I’ve gained 5 kg. It also gave me the uncommon opportunity to consume meri maa ke haath ka halwa. What a lucky break!”

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan in 2020, Akshay Kumar announced the film Raksha Bandham.

He also dedicated the film to his sister Alka Bhatia. The film also stars Bhumi Pednekar, who, most probably, will play Akshay’s sister in the film. Earlier, they worked together in Shree Narayan Singh’s Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
