Anupria Goenka: I am looking for some dark roles

In films such as Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmaavat, and War, she has worked with Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Tiger Shroff. With projects like Asur and MX Player’s Aashram, she’s been riding high on the digital wave of late. Anupria Goenka is attracting the proper kind of attention and is looking forward to working on some exciting projects.

After more than a half-decade in the business, the actress says she wants to play a variety of roles. “I’ve always been given tough roles,” she adds. I’m grateful that I’ve always had the opportunity to play powerful female characters. But it’s time for me to mature, and I’m looking forward to it. On film, I’d want to portray a deranged lunatic. I’d want to reveal my sensitive side.”

The actress, who starred with Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama, says she would want to work on more such projects. “I do want to perform period dramas,” she says. Surprisingly, humor isn’t something I’ve tried before, so I’d want to give it a shot.”

Anupria Goenka said in a previous interview with SeetaGeeta that she was looking for main role opportunities. The year 2020 has not been ideal for Bollywood, with no theatrical releases, but during this time, OTTs grabbed center stage and saved the day, which Anupria Goenka owes to them. The actor, who starred in three web series this year (Asur, Aashram, and Criminal Justice 2), says it was good to be “working marginally at least and people got to see me.” Anupriya Goenka, 33, has a slew of over-the-top projects coming out this year, and she says she’s excited to do new things with her characters.

“For the past year, I’ve felt secure with pulling off major parts with larger graphs,” she added. I believe I will be able to bring value to these parts and give them right, as the character graph is complex and touches on a variety of emotions.”
