Ayan Mukerji explains in Brahmastra why Isha repeatedly uses Shiva’s name

Brahmastra

While Brahmastra is performing well at the box office, it is also entertaining audiences with an assortment of memes and videos. A video posted to Instagram by a mimicry artist who frequently imitates Alia Bhatt poked fun at the actor’s character Isha’s repeated use of Shiva’s name throughout the film. Alia disclosed that she considered the video amusing rather than offensive.

Ayan Mukerji, the director of Brahmastra, and Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Shiva, have disclosed why Isha repeats the word Shiva so often. As Ranbir revealed, the Brahmastra team has a group chat called “Brahmastra Comments” in which everyone gives feedback, memes, criticism, and makes fun of themselves. When a film becomes a part of popular culture, only then do such conversations occur, according to Ranbir.

In an interview with NDTV, Alia Bhatt responded to the viral Instagram video regarding her dialogues, stating, “This is among my favorites. There is this one girl, Chandni, who imitates me exceptionally well. She created an Alia Bramastra meme in which she discusses my voice, and she is remarkable.” Ayan explained the rationale for the discussions as follows: “People are ridiculing it. It is my practice to frequently use people’s names when I speak. So, this remained in the script and also appeared in the film.”
