Kangana Ranaut arrives at Police Station for interrogation

Kangana Ranaut arrived at the Khar Police Station today after failing to appear on December 22 for interrogation in the anti-Sikh post case.

Kangana looked lovely in a floral-patterned white saree with a matching sleeveless top. She finished off her ensemble with a pearl necklace and smart sunglasses.

The police had sent her with a summons earlier this month. Her lawyer had informed the Bombay High Court that she will appear before the Khar police on December 22nd. She did not, however, and her lawyer requested a new date for her appearance.

The city police had previously informed the Bombay High Court that they would not arrest Ranaut until January 25, 2022, in relation to a social media post in which she reportedly connected farmers’ demonstrations to a separatist organization.

The police issued the statement after the Supreme Court ruled that the case included the bigger issue of Ranaut’s basic right to free expression and that the court would have to provide her some ad-interim relief.

The FIR was filed against her after some members of a Sikh group complained that the actress had depicted the farmers’ protest on Delhi’s borders as a Khalistani movement in an Instagram post. The police allegedly charged her on allegations of intentionally hurting the religious sensibilities of the community under Section 295-A of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Kangana has a fascinating slate of films coming up, including ‘Tejas,’ ‘Dhaakad,’ and ‘Sita: The Incarnation.’
