Karan Johar writes a heartfelt tribute to 83

Karan Johar praised Ranveer Singh and the whole 83-member cast. He added that he began to believe Ranveer had morphed into Bollywood great Kapil Dev for the film.

Karan Johar lavished admiration on Ranveer Singh and his upcoming film, 83. The actor, according to the filmmaker, has “struck it out of the park.” Ranveer Singh plays Kapil Dev in the film, directed by Kabir Khan, which recreates India’s most historic chapter, the 1983 World Cup victory.

83 has received a lot of accolades from critics – and rightly so! Karan Johar resorted to Instagram to express his feelings on the film. “It’s not simple to tell a truthful narrative, a firsthand account of a watershed moment in Indian sports history!” There is no opportunity for cinematic liberties or factual distortions for dramatic effect, which is why #83 was chosen. The film is a huge accomplishment. It draws you into that year, that World Cup, that team, that political context, that atmosphere. that team, that political climate, that mad fandom frenzy I saw myself rooting for every member of that historic team Laughing and crying with each one of them (sic),” he wrote.

“I noticed myself pulling for Kabir Khan and his virtuoso skill of narrative telling,” Karan said. Taking up a difficult task and mastering it like a giant meticulous master! Salute! I found myself believing that @ranveersingh had changed into the Legend Kapil Dev with the ease and brilliance of a seasoned pro! He’s so talented at so many things that it’s nearly incredible! Restraint and strength at the same time! He’s blown it out of the park! My heartfelt congrats go out to the whole actors, crew, and proud producers of this beautiful film! @deepikapadukone @reliance.entertainment @nadiadwalagrandson @kabirkhankk @fuhsephantom (sic)
