Will Smith apologises to Chris Rock and his mother for the Oscars slap incident again, saying, ‘It’s been a minute’

Smith apologises

Will Smith apologises to comedian Chris Rock for slapping him during the Oscars 2022. Will posted a lengthy video on Instagram explaining his feelings following the incident. Will stated that he attempted to contact Chris, but the comic seems unwilling to speak with him.

Will Smith apologises to Chris and his family, particularly Rose Rock, Chris’ mother. At the beginning of the video, it says, “It’s been a while… Over the past few months, I’ve done a lot of thinking and personal work. You posed some reasonable questions, and I wanted to take the time to respond.”

Will stated in the video, “Why didn’t you apologise to Chris in your acceptance speech?” “I was hazy at that time.” Everything was hazy. I contacted Chris, and the response was that he is not yet ready to communicate. He will reach out when he is ready. So I’ll tell you, Chris. Please accept my apologies. “My behaviour was inappropriate, and I am available to speak with you whenever you are ready,” said the actor.

Will admitted that he had no idea how many people he had been affected by the incident and apologised to Chris Rock’s mother. Will Smith travelled to India for a spiritual journey following the controversy surrounding his slap. “This is probably irreplaceable,” he said of his last three months. I spent the last three months replaying and comprehending the intricacies and complexities of what occurred at that moment, and I won’t go into detail now. I can state that no part of me believes that was the appropriate way to act at the time. No part of me believes that is the best method to deal with feelings of contempt or offence.”

It all started in March of this year. Will smacked Chris when he joked about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, having a shaved head. Jada has shaved her head since being diagnosed with alopecia areata. In response, Will explained that it was not his wife who prompted him to decide on Oscar night.

“It seems as though I came to my conclusion based on my own experiences as well as my past interactions with Chris.” “I’m sorry, honey, and I want to apologise to my children and the rest of my family for the heat that I brought on all of us,” he explained. I will also apologise to fellow Oscar nominees for the 2022 ceremony.

“I am human, and I made a mistake, and I am trying not to think of myself as a piece of s***,” Will explained, apologising to everyone he had disappointed with his actions. Meanwhile, Will Smith has been barred from acting for the next ten years as a result of the incident. After the actor resigned from the Academy, the decision was made.

Will Smith had previously posted a note on the subject. “All types of violence are poisonous and destructive.” My behaviour at the Academy Awards last night was both terrible and inexcusable. A joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to take, and I reacted emotionally,” read an excerpt from his apology statement.
