Thalaivar 171: Rajinikanth wears gold in Lokesh Kanagaraj film’s first look; title announced soon
In an update to Rajinikanth regarding his forthcoming film, director Lokesh Kanagaraj provided the actor with his first glimpse from the project. A brand-new poster for the untitled film Thalaivar 171 features the actor in a fashionable ensemble.
Title to be disclosed shortly
Lokesh announced on X that the title of the film would be disclosed on April 22. “April 22 marks the Thalaivar 171 title reveal,” he wrote on the poster he shared. The poster features an image of Rajinikanth adorned with gold watch handcuffs, which exude an air of untamed glamour. In addition, he wears gold spectacles. Similar to the inner workings of a timepiece, the poster’s background is composed of mechanical components.
As the handcuffs are constructed from timepieces, enthusiasts speculated as to whether or not Suriya’s character Rolex would materialise. Although an official announcement has not been made by the filmmakers, the film’s poster provides an indication that the film may explore the themes of time and gold. Presently, pre-production is underway for the film, which is scheduled to begin filming later this year.
Regarding Thalaivar 171
Rajinikanth appears in his debut film alongside Lokesh. The Sun Pictures-produced film was officially declared in September of the previous year. The film is speculated to feature Sivakarthikeyan in a pivotal role, but the remaining cast and crew members have not yet been disclosed. The complete cast of the film is anticipated to be unveiled on the same day that the title is declared. Nevertheless, the new poster indicates that stunt director duo Anbariv and composer Anirudh Ravichander have already been cast.
forthcoming endeavour
Earlier this year, Rajinikanth was last spotted in Lal Salaam, the directorial debut of his daughter Aishwarya. Presently, he is on location in Vettaiyan under the direction of TJ Gnanavel. Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati also appear in the film. Following the enormously successful 2022 film Vikram starring Kamal Haasan, Lokesh directed Leo starring Vijay in 2023. He recently debuted as an actor in the song Inimel by Shruti Haasan. In addition to the film starring Rajinikanth, Lokesh is also preparing for Kaithi 2 with Karthi.
