Karan Johar is looking forward to seeing Kangana Ranaut’s movie Emergency, and he praises how well Gadar 2 did

Karan Johar

At a recent event, Karan Johar seemed eager to make up with Kangana Ranaut. Since 2017, when she was on his talk show Koffee With Karan and called him the “flagbearer of nepotism,” the director and the star have been in a fight. Karan says that he is still excited about her new movie Emergency, even though she has been angry and mean on social media for the past six years.

Karan is looking forward to Emergency

Karan was asked at the Express Adda session for The Indian Express on Monday about a political event he would like to see in a movie. Karan said, “They are making The Emergency, and I can’t wait to see it.” Emergency is a movie that Kangana Ranaut both directs and stars in as the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Karan Johar also said that Bollywood directors often give inflated sales numbers to make their films look like hits. “We’ve all been lying. At the IE dinner, he said, “We are all big fat liars.” His most recent movie, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, did well at the box office, but Kangana questioned how accurate the box office numbers were.

What Kangana thinks of Karan

Recently, Kangana wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Audience can’t be tricked anymore. They turned down horrible, poorly made films with fake sets and over-the-top costumes. Who dresses like this in real life, and where are places like that in Delhi? What garbage!!! Karan Johar shouldn’t be making copies of his own old films from the 1990s… Also, why did he spend 250 cr on something so dumb? Who gives them so much money when people with real ability have a hard time getting money? Karan no longer responds to what she says.

Karan on how well Gadar 2 did

Karan talked about how he felt about Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and how it has done so well at the box office. At the same Express Adda event, he said, “Gadar has blown everyone’s minds because it was a big hit in 2001, but now, in 2023, it is breaking every record. I’m so happy about the single screens.” So far, Gadar 2 has made 389 crore rupees at the Indian box office.

Even though it’s competing with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 at the box office, Gadar 2 is still selling out single screens all over India and making history at the box office every day.
