Kartik Aaryan reveals if he lied about his relationship with Sara Ali Khan: ‘Ek Saal se single hoon,’ he says

Kartik Aaryan, whose relationship with Sara Ali Khan and the subsequent break-up was confirmed by filmmaker Karan Johar on his talk show Koffee With Karan, has reportedly revealed the timeline of this split. Kartik stated that he has been single for over a year without providing any details about his previous relationships.

Kartik found himself in a difficult situation after being confronted for lying about his relationship status in previous interviews in which he stated that he was ‘in love with his work. Though he refused to comment on his relationship with ex Sara Ali Khan or whether he lied about it, he insisted that he is currently single.

When asked if his past claims about his love life were untrue in light of ‘Koffee With Karan,’ Kartik replied, “I’m single this year.” baaki Mujhe Kuch nahi pataa (I have been single for the past 1.25 years, I don’t know about anything else).” Kartik could only blush when told that 1.25 years is a very specific timeline.

Kartik quickly changed his statement after learning that his single status has been documented for the past 1.25 years. “A year,” he said. He went on to say, “I’m not gradually reducing the period…it was just not precise.” When asked if he will continue to say that his work is his relationship, Kartik responded, “It depends.” “No, it isn’t like that. But I’m not married. That’s pretty much it.”

During the interview, the actor also had a hilarious interaction with the audience, who refused to believe his claims about being single. He also insisted that the last number he dialed was his mother’s.

Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan were rumored to be in a relationship while filming Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2, their only film together, and they broke up just before the film’s release. Though the actors never mentioned it, Karan Johar revealed that they dated during Sara’s appearance on Koffee With Karan.
