Ranveer Singh mocks Vijay Deverakonda for wearing chappals to a Liger event

Vijay Deverakonda Liger trailer was released in Hyderabad on Thursday morning to much fanfare. He flew to Mumbai in the evening for a promotional event, where he chose to step out in Hawaii slippers after a long day. It did not go unnoticed.

Ranveer Singh, a guest at the event, made the observation, “Bhai ka style Dekho, this is how it looks like my trailer launch has been attended by my brother instead of me attending his trailer launch.”

Vijay wore a black tee with ‘The’ written in caps, beige cargo pants, and white chappals. Ranveer even compared him to John Abraham, who has been seen wearing chappals at events as well. Ranveer was dressed in a black tee and printed black trousers, which he paired with a silver-grey jacket and black boots.

“Speaking of lust, the object of lust, sir, we have discovered on your blockbuster talk show ki ‘the’ ki kitni demand hai North India mein (the demand for Vijay in North India),” Ranveer said at the event. He was referring to Sara Ali Khan’s desire to date Vijay Deverakonda on the second episode of Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan.

Director Puri Jagannath was there, as was Vijay’s co-star Ananya Panday. Vijay plays an underdog fighter from Mumbai in an MMA championship in Liger. On August 25, the sports drama will be released theatrically in five languages: Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Vijay said, “I’m looking forward to the day when it’s just Indian cinema and we’re called Indian actors.” That is the reality we should strive for.”
