Soni Razdan Mandi look was just like Alia Bhatt in Gangubai, she reacts

Soni Razdan has responded to a video clip showing her striking resemblance to Alia Bhatt’s appearance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. A Twitter user shared the clip from her film Mandi.

Soni Razdan has passed on not only her acting skills but also her good looks to her daughter Alia Bhatt. A video clip from Soni’s 1983 film Mandi demonstrates how similar Alia’s performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi is to the senior actor’s performance. When a viewer shared the video on Twitter, other users on the microblogging platform agreed that Alia resembled Soni from Gangubai Kathiawadi.

On Twitter, a fan posted a video clip of Mandi and wrote, “In the late 1970s, @Soni Razdan played a sex worker in #Mandi, and now @aliaa08 plays a sex worker in #GangubaiKathiawadi; both have a striking resemblance, and both are excellent actresses. Soni then looks like Alia right now.” Soni responded to the video with, “Oh gosh, a blast from the past all right!”

Someone responded to the tweet by saying, “Your daughter looks so much like you. Allahu Akbar.” “Alia looks exactly like you then!” said another.

Shabana Azmi, Smita Patil, Neena Gupta, Ila Arun, Naseeruddin Shah, Amrish Puri, Pankaj Kapur, Om Puri, Satish Kaushik, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and others starred in Mandi. Mandi, directed by Shyam Benegal, was based on Ghulam Abbas’ short story Aanandi. The plot revolved around a brothel in the heart of a city, which some politicians desired for another reason.

Alia played the titular role of a brothel owner and politician in Gangubai Kathiawadi. It was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and received critical acclaim for Alia’s performance.

Soni maintains friendships with Neena and Ila Arun. Even Soni and Neena go on vacation together. “Price Soni, sab Bhi also mana rahein, dholak baj rahein, Banna banni ga rahein” Neena, please help me with my private.” Ila Arun wrote on Instagram about Alia’s wedding with Ranbir Kapoor.
