Jacqueline Fernandez wants to focus on a variety of social issues

Due to the pandemic’s second shutdown, a number of celebrities used their opportunity to reach out to those in need. As a result of a scarcity of medical facilities and equipment in India, celebrities joined the public in obtaining oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, and medications. Jacqueline took the risk and established a foundation dedicated to humanitarian action.

Jacqueline, who was working on films such as Bhoot Police and Ram Setu at the start of the year, used her spare time to help people in need. Interestingly, the actress had intended to support other organisations, but her intentions were thwarted owing to COVID.

“Launching my own foundation was my focus this year,” she says. I’ve always wanted to research children’s rights, women’s rights, and animal rights, focusing on themes like women’s empowerment via financial literacy, child hunger, animal shelters, and animal sterilisation. However, due to the second wave of COVID, I entirely altered gears and concentrated on COVID relief.”

“Since we started, we have been successful in acquiring 500 oxygen concentrators, we have also gotten free ambulances for individuals who cannot afford them, and we are now looking at building up a COVID centre outside of Mumbai,” she says of her efforts. We also provide basic supplies such as hand sanitizers and masks to frontline workers.” The Mumbai Police Department praised her on social media a few weeks ago prior to the advent of the monsoon in the city, for giving raincoats to members of the force.
