KBC 14: Amitabh Bachchan laughs, “I wash and iron my own clothing”

Amitabh Bachchan stated on KBC 14 that he not only washes but also irons and folds his clothing before storing it in his closet. On his popular game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, he was responding to a participant. Contestant Pinky Jawarani was in the hot seat and questioned whether or not celebrities ever wash their clothes, given that they are constantly seen wearing brand-new attire.

Amitabh asked Pinky “Celebrities never repeat outfits. Now, a question. Do you wear clothes?” The host responded, “You may not notice it, but we do reuse clothing.” She then inquired, “Are clothing laundered in your home?”

Amitabh chuckled as he stated, “Yes, I sometimes do my laundry. What do you think about us? We are not dissimilar. For the sake of the programmes, we must wear new attire. Now, you will notice that I will wear the same kurta pyjama when I leave.” The contestant, still unable to believe, interjected, “Is that clear?”

“Yes, I do my laundry. Are you implying that I wear a kurta pyjama and then discard it?” Amitabh questioned her, to which she shyly responded, “I assumed it was given to a designer.” Amitabh was astonished by her remark and immediately questioned, “Will designers wash clothing now?”

“We wear clothes, wash them, iron them ourselves, fold them appropriately, and store them in our closets. In the morning, I take them out of the closet and wear them to come to work. My designer will be able to tell you what happens after I arrive here “he continued.

Before proceeding, Amitabh Bachchan stated: “Oh my god, I have lost focus on the game. I was about to refer to the fourth question as the fourth washing.”
