After opening Sona, an Indian restaurant in New York, Priyanka Chopra has now launched Sona Home, a homeware collection in the city.

Priyanka Chopra discussed being an immigrant in the United States and leaving her origins behind as she launched Sona Home, a new homeware collection. Sona Home, according to the actress, was created to convey a bit of her Indian heritage to houses in the United States. She also discussed how difficult it was for her to establish a second home in the United States after moving there for business and eventually marrying singer-actor Nick Jonas.

Priyanka Chopra made the news on her Instagram account on Wednesday. In a video, she and Sona Home co-founder Maneesh Goyal showed off items from their homeware business. The actress added of her new endeavor, “The thing about our culture in India is a family, community, bringing people together, and that’s what the concept of Sona Home is to me.”

Maneesh added to this by saying, “If we’re having a takeaway or a wonderful party, we want it to seem like it’s so much fun. Whatever we do with our friends or family, we simply want it to be based in culture and home, with a feeling of there being nowhere else I’d rather be.”

Priyanka went on, “That is the foundation of Sona Home. It is based on making a home out of a house. It was founded with the intention of bringing family and friends together and building community. And that, to me, is really significant as an immigrant from India. I left my roots behind, but I discovered you, my friends, and my family here. You are the family I have chosen, and here is my adopted nation. And to be able to bring the legacy of where I grew up into households throughout the United States.”

In the video’s description, she also mentioned going to America, which stated, “I am overjoyed to present you all to Sona Home. Coming from India and making America my second home was difficult, but my journey took me to a location where I met a second family and friends. I try to incorporate a little bit of India into everything I do, and this is an extension of that thought.” In another post, she showed off the items from her homeware business.

Meanwhile, the actress just finished filming for her next Amazon Prime Video series Citadel. She’s also working on Ending Things and It’s All Coming Back To Me. She will also appear in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa, opposite Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
