Ridley Scott, the man behind Alien and Blade Runner, appears to have taken it upon himself to investigate the rot and tension that exists inside wealthy families. In the star-studded House of Gucci, his next target is the Gucci family, the individuals behind the renowned fashion business.

Lady Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, an Italian socialite who hired a successful hit on her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), the former head of the Gucci fashion business. The slogan reads, “A legacy worth dying for.”

If Gaga and Driver weren’t enough, the picture also features Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Reeve Carney, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino, among others.

While Patrizia and Maurizio are the main protagonists, Leto’s portrayal of Paolo Gucci steals the show. It’s a remarkable metamorphosis worthy of Christian Bale’s praise. If you weren’t told otherwise, you may mistake him for a somewhat overweight man who looks a little like Jared Leto.

If you go by trailer alone, House of Gucci looks incredible: elegant, scandalous, and wonderfully filmed with a fantastic depiction of the environment.
