Malaika Arora considers dating a younger man ‘sacrilege’

Malaika Arora, who divorced Arbaaz Khan in 2016, recently commented on how important it is for a woman to go on with her life after a break-up or divorce. Malaika, who was mocked for dating Arjun Kapoor because of their age difference, also spoke up about how a woman dating a younger guy is frequently considered sacrilege. Malaika, 48, and Arjun, 36, had been in a relationship for many years. They made it public in 2019 when Malaika wrote a passionate birthday message to Arjun on Instagram, after keeping it a secret for a long time. Malaika recently said that when men and women date someone younger than them, there are double standards and that this is a sexist attitude.

Malaika said to Hello Magazine, “After a split or divorce, it’s critical for women to have a life… There is a sexist attitude toward female relationships. A woman dating a younger guy is typically seen as a sin.”

The actress also said that she is a “strong woman and a work in progress,” and that she strives to be “stronger, fitter, and happier every day.” She said, “I’m a reflection of my mother because I absorb her courage and grit and unconsciously duplicate her life. She constantly taught me to live life on my terms and to be self-sufficient.”

Malaika had told HT that she was afraid of getting back into a relationship after her romance with Arbaaz Khan ended. In a 2019 interview, she said “I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to be in another relationship after my marriage ended because I was afraid of being hurt. But I also wanted to be in love and foster a relationship, and this new me gave me the courage to put myself out there and take a risk. I’m so happy I did!”

Malaika and Arbaaz, who married in 1998, separated in 2016 after 18 years of marriage and divorced in 2017. Arhaan, their 19-year-old son, is their only child.
